Join the Friends of the Malden River on Monday, February 9th 6:30-8:30 PM at Idle Hands Craft Ales - 89 Commercial Street, Malden

The Friends of the Malden River invite you to join in our celebration of the Malden River!  

We will gather at Idle Hands Craft Ales (89 Commercial Street, Malden) on Monday, February 9th between 6:30-8:30.

Cheers and iSalud! to the ongoing rejuvenation and restoration of our blue gem and important community resource:  The Malden River and its surrounding green space. 

We have been working for over a decade to achieve this high level of progress and public recognition and are proud of the collaborative efforts for these achievements. 

We have much to celebrate, including the construction of the Malden River Works Waterfront Park in Malden, wetland restoration with nature paths in Everett, and ongoing environmental protections in Medford. 

There are many opportunities and goals to work towards in 2026 and forward. 

There will be two speakers at our celebration:

• Karl Alexander of Mystic River Watershed Association will be presenting on the Malden River Greenway developments and projected goals.

• Andy Hyrcyna of Mystic River Watershed Association will be presenting on the successes and challenges of maintaining healthy water quality for boating and recreational activities.
