Malden River Youth Climate Summit: Saturday, April 18th Noon - 4:00 PM at Malden City Hall
The Malden River Media Makers are calling for residents (12 years old to 99+ years old) of the Malden River communities to gather, to converse, and to learn about local challenges and successes of regional climate resiliency at Malden City Hall, 215 Pleasant Street, Malden, Saturday, April 18th.
The topics and speakers are:
Urban Biodiversity : Kristen Nicholson of co-owner of Blue Stem Natives
Environmental Impacts of Data Centers: (A.I.) Sam Lambert of The Sierra Club, Massachusetts Chapter
Effective Social Media Environmental Communication: Isaiah Johnson, Outreach and Media Manager of Mystic River Watershed Association
Education and Activism about Climate Change: Tobe Stomberg of Extinction Rebellion
Planning and Building for Climate Resiliency: Marie Law Adams of Landing Studios and head designer of Malden River Works Waterfront Park
The speakers will also address environmental justice as an important feature and speak about careers in their fields. Participants will choose two topics in rotating workshops. There will be pizza and prizes. Best of all, we will be under the same roof : Let’s raise our roof together!
