Youth Climate Summit
On April 18, youth filled the City Hall Council Chamber for an afternoon of learning and conversation about environmental issues affecting their communities and the planet. Attendees—many as young as middle school—came eager to learn, engage, and take action around concerns such as fossil fuel emissions, AI data center energy use, and climate change.
Malden plays key role in Lower Mystic Vision
Malden is integral to the Lower Mystic Waterfront Vision — both as an environmental justice community and as a potential bridge city that can help connect people, cultures, and green spaces across the watershed. Its inclusion ensures that upstream voices shape how the entire region adapts to climate change and creates equitable, connected, and thriving riverfronts.
Planting Trees at Bell Rock Burial Grounds on the Sandy Bank of the Malden River
On May 10th, we gathered at Bell Rock Burial Ground and planted a Red Oak Tree and American Jefferson Elm Tree.
